BCERF brings you details about ongoing research projects focusing on environmental risk factors for breast cancer and other types of cancer.

 Research Projects

• The Agricultural Health Study (AHS)
  A large, long-term study of farm families and commercial pesticide applicators. The study includes 89,658 enrollees from Iowa and North Carolina. The data are being used to assess links between agricultural practices, including exposure to pesticides, and cancer and other health risks.
• The Sister Study
  Long-term study of the interaction of environment and genes on breast cancer. Conducted by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, following 50,000 sisters of women who had breast cancer.
• Breast Cancer and Environment Research Centers (BCERC)
  A new project creating a nationwide network of four research centers. The Centers' innovative mission calls for both research and community outreach.
